Glen Helton

Chief Executive Officer

Glen Helton is the Chief Executive Officer of Americana Restaurant Division. 

With over 30 years’ experience in the restaurant industry, Glen is a hands-on veteran of the field. He’s served as a restaurant owner, a franchisee and a franchisor. He’s held positions across every level and function in the industry, with a knack for technology and people-driven growth. 

Throughout his seasoned career, he’s worked with some the world’s most loved brands, including Burger KingPopeyesand Boston Market. Glen has helped turn around troubled restaurants in the US, Europe and the Middle East. His track record is marked by leading expansions across multiple geographies, achieving sustainable profitable growth through portfolio optimization, and executing with excellence at every step of the value chain: from the basics of salting fries properly, to maximizing efficiencies at every line of a P&L.

Keeping true to his passion for people, Glen has mentored numerous professionals in the field; helping them unleash their potential, deliver break-through results, and strengthen their capability and talent. Embodying the philosophy of “Servant Leadership”, Glen leads his teams by serving them with knowledge, empowerment and challenging their perspectives and dogmas. He takes his people and organizations on a learning journey, that instills the value of excellence, appreciation and humility. 

He cultivates a culture of appreciation every day, for every task and recognition for every one’s unique role in the organization. Early on in his career, he inspired teams with diversity and inclusion, bringing to life the true essence of globalization, transcending race, gender, age and nationalities. Realizing the transformational impact that gender equity delivers, and the disproportionate gap of talent within the industry, Glen actively pursued institutionalizing tools that enable women to progress in their careers, strengthen their competencies and break through the barriers that are entrenched in the workplace. All key traits that fueled his ability to work in an array of countries, organizations and cultures.

A true advocate of technology, Glen is attuned to the changing consumer and market landscape; using technology as an enabler that disrupts the market, drives unique competitiveness and delivers transparency of measurement for performance.

In his current role, Glen manages a portfolio of 18 brands, across 13 markets, close to 1,900 restaurants and more than 40,000 employees. The Americana Restaurant Division operates restaurants of reputable brands like KFC,Pizza HutHardeesand TGI Friday’s, to name a few. 

Prior to joining Americana, Glen was the Chief Executive Officer of KuduFood & Catering Company in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Before that, he was the Senior Vice President Global Operations, where he was instrumental in driving the turnaround of Burger King. He holds a degree in Entrepreneurship and Business Administration from Western Carolina University, in the USA.

Today, he is considered one of the most successful leaders in the Casual Dining and QSR industry, globally.
